Spring Travel Destinations

The snow is starting to melt and the temperature is starting to rise. Spring is upon us once again, felt like it would never get here. To officially get over those winter blues, why not take a nice family trip across the great state of Michigan! From Mackinac Island to Comerica Park, there are many great things to see and do in the state of Michigan. Here are a few examples of the great fun you and your family can have in Michigan.

Comerica ParkComerica Park
Comerica Park is home to the Detroit Tigers, as they gear up for a championship run in 08! Jim Leyland has his team, are poised and ready for a World Series run. There is no better way, to start off your spring, than opening day at Comerica. Comerica Park is a very family friendly environment and a great place to spend the afternoon watching a ball game. Henry Ford HouseHenry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village
If you and your family would prefer a more educational and informative day out, then go to Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. There is more than 90 acres of rich American history. You will learn all about the great history of the Ford family. Greenfield Village is an authentic replication of historic life. The Rouge Factory tour is also available here. This is an insider’s look at the auto industry. If you are a movie lover, or just enjoy movies, you must check out the IMAX Theater. It is the largest theater screen in Michigan, and is a whole new way to watch movies. Memberships and individual ticket sales are now on sale.

Artic Ring of LifeThe Detroit Zoo
Another great destination for the whole family would be the Detroit Zoo! Located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Woodward Avenue and 10 Mile Road (I-696) in Royal Oak, the Detroit Zoo has many exceptional exhibits for your family to enjoy. The Artic Ring of Life exhibit, is a must see, you travel under the water in a 70ft. long clear tunnel to see all the wonders of the animal kingdom. Detroit Institute of ArtDetroit Institute of Art
For a look at one of the nations largest art collections, head to the Detroit Institute of Art. Located at 5200 Woodward Ave. in Detroit, the DIA has over 60,000 works of art. The DIA offers art education classes for those who love to educate themselves further about art. There is also a shop available online and at the institute. Mackinac IslandMackinac Island
Another great destination is to travel north to the tip of the Lower Peninsula, and visit Mackinac Island. A historic area with great nature trails for biking and hiking. Also home of Fort Mackinac, a fort used during the Revolutionary War. Mackinac State park is a great way to get back to nature, with many beautiful sites; you can even enjoy a horse drawn carriage.
